Body By Impulse uses electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) as an extraordinarily efficient method for high-intensity workouts of short duration. EMS-enhanced training is the latest and most advanced fitness system currently available.
The state-of-the-art wireless vest system uses bluetooth technology to stimulate nearly all of your muscle groups with low-frequency electric pulses, providing many possibilities for each individual training concept. Our bluetooth system provides unprecedented freedom of movement to maximize any training experience.
EMS-enhanced training can deliver the most effective and easiest whole body workout in just 20 minutes.
Whether your goal is explosive strength, endurance training, body toning or anti-cellulite, Body By Impulse makes your workout program that much more efficient in the shortest period of time.
Two EMS sessions of 20 minutes are enough to replace up to 6 hours of conventional training, improve your physical and mental well being, and accelerate your performance.
Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), also known as electromyostimulation, is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses.
Every movement in the body is produced by an electrical impulse sent from the brain to the muscle fibers. In conventional training these electrical signals cause muscle contraction and trigger movement.
Through using this natural principle, EMS is able to intensify the process to reach deeper muscle layers which are hard to activate through conventional training. This is achieved by applying EMS electrodes to the skin directly above the muscle. Your personal trainer can control each muscle group by adjusting the training intensity according to your individual goals and comfort level.
With EMS, you achieve visible and tangible success in a very short time. The training is not painful.
Your own personal trainer for every session
Body By Impulse carefully matches its training to each client’s individual wishes, because everyone’s physical fitness is improved differently. A personal trainer is an essential partner in achieving success efficiently.
Increased muscle definition, strength and endurance
Body By Impulse uses electro stimulation to achieve stronger and more intense muscle contraction than voluntary exertion can reach alone. Depending on intensity and individual goals, you can build muscle and achieve better definition while also creating faster muscle response time.
With EMS-enhanced training, you gain rapid strength in a shorter period of time. In fact, a 20 minute EMS workout is as effective as three 90-minute training sessions of a general weight lifting workout, according to research results.
EMS is gentle on your joints
EMS does not cause the high joint stress associated with mechanical training. There is no strain on your joints as you don't have to use any weights during your work-out. The intensity of your training is regulated through electro stimulation. Because EMS training is not dependent on high impact training, the risks of strain and injury are greatly reduced.
Compensation of muscular imbalance
Harmful, one-sided strains are avoided since all of the major muscle groups are trained at the same time. with EMS training you can target specific problem areas and help strengthen weaker muscle groups to correct imbalances.
Smoother and firmer skin
EMS contractions stimulate collagen production and encourage blood flow to the skin. We are able to calibrate the EMS device specifically to combat cellulite and firm up the upper tissue layers. These settings can regulate the depth to which the electric impulses penetrate, keeping them at the upper tissue levels, and thereby targeting specific problem areas. Muscles will then visibly stand out with greater definition and firmness resulting in a quickening of metabolism.
Why is this type of training so effective?
EMS-enhanced training can stimulate all 3 connective tissue layers of each muscle, from superficial too deep, with low-frequency electric impulses.
Whether your goal is to firm up your skin, target cellulite or build strong muscles from the core, EMS training can help you achieve your specific goal with precision in the shortest time possible.
What is EMS and how does it work?
EMS stands for Electro Muscle Stimulation. EMS is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electrical impulses. Every movement in the body is produced by an electrical impulse sent from the brain to the muscle fibers. In conventional training, these electrical signals cause muscle contraction and trigger movement.
Through using this natural principle, EMS is able to intensify the process to reach deeper muscle layers, which are harder to activate through conventional training. This is achieved by applying EMS electrodes to the skin directly above the muscle. Your personal trainer can control each muscle group by adjusting the training intensity according to your individual goals and comfort level.
Why is this type of training so effective?
EMS training targets all of the muscle connective tissue layers, from superficial to deep, with low-frequency electric impulses. During EMS training, 90% of muscles are activated simultaneously with each contraction. Muscle contractions are stronger and more intense than-with typical voluntary exertion.
Does EMS training hurt?
No. Body By Impulse uses low impulse frequency that is painless!
Can anyone do EMS training?
Most people can do EMS training. If you have a health condition which prevents you from participating in any conventional sports, please consult with your doctor first.
The training cannot be used by people with heart disease, a pacemaker, or other implanted electric devise, during pregnancy, or anyone with a predisposition to epileptic seizures.
Are there any known side effects to training with EMS?
No, there are no known side effects. EMS training is based on low-frequency impulses and does not harm the body. The body needs electrical impulses from our central nervous system for each movement. EMS uses this natural principle in a more intense and effective way.
Can I do more than two 20 minute sessions per week?
It is not recommended. The high intensity of EMS training requires a 2-3 day regeneration period. It is important to have sufficient rest time to avoid overtraining and exhaustion.
How soon can I expect visual results?
The combination of a healthy diet and two EMS training session per week will produce visible result after eight sessions.
Will I be sore after a 20 minute EMS training?
Your initial workout session will cause some soreness, as the deeper and harder to reach muscles are affected. However, this will diminish gradually with regular training.
What do I need to bring to my EMS training session?
At Body by Impulse, we provide all the equipment. Some men prefer to bring a pair of basketball shorts to wear over the skin tight base layer we attach the electrodes to.
Can I wear my own workout clothes?
Yes you can, as long as they are at least 95% cotton and tight fitting, with long sleeve and long legs.
"I enjoyed my EMS training. My body felt energized immediately afterward, and I prefer it over traditional weight-lifting. The one issue for me is the cost — doing two sessions per week can get a little pricey. But for older folks who want to regain some of the muscle strength and overall health they enjoyed years ago, it may be worth giving these high-tech workouts a try." Full Article
"I was introduced to BodyByImpulse and the concept of EMS about six weeks ago by my sister-in-law and encouraged to check it out, as she was experiencing some amazing results. According to its owner, Michka Mirzanejad, BodyByImpulse, “uses electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) as an extraordinarily efficient method for high-intensity workouts of short duration.” Essentially, users put on a wireless suit that is charged and able to contract different muscles as they work out based on the trainer’s guidance. Before committing to my first session, Merzanejad claimed a 20 minute workout would equal one of my 5-mile runs, with no impact. How could I pass it up?" Full Article
"EMS workouts and Body by Impulse are for real, returning results that were more hoped for than expected, and unexpected results that hadn’t even been considered up-front. If you are over 40 and looking for a boost, there is no time like the present to explore the benefits of EMS — something countries like Germany have known for decades. If you can find a wireless set-up like we have in Seattle, even better. It is hard to imagine performing the cross-fit moves I’m doing now while tethered to a wall or machine." Full Article
